In a visit co-ordinated by Invest NI as part of the NI Year of Food and Drink, 7 top chefs were in NI to see at first hand the extremely high quality and range of products on offer from artisan food producers in the Province. Those visiting included the Executive and Head Chefs from the Jumeriah Hotel Group, The Atlantis Palm and Emirate In-Flight Catering.
Fortunately they visited Glenarm during a break in the recent storms and as a result were able to go to sea to inspect the next generation of Glenarm Organic Salmon which will be ready for market late March.
The next day, using fresh and smoked Glenarm Organic Salmon and working with local chef Dean Coppard and students from Belfast Metropolitan College Catering School, Ben Tobitt of the Jumeriah Hotel and Restaurant Group prepared a delicious and innovative selection of dishes as part of the NI Larder challenge at Belfast Metropolitan College.
